Help Us Make Dreams Come True… A Campaign for Wynona’s House

In our continuing efforts to increase access and improve services for children, Wynona’s House has embarked on a capital project to renovate a large building in historic downtown Newark. This centrally located facility will provide state-of-the-art technology and expanded services to Essex County’s most vulnerable population – children. Your support of Wynona’s House will help build a better work for all our children.

Our new child-centered facility will include:

  • Child-friendly interview appropriately equipped with cameras and recording devices to reduce the number of times a child must be interviewed.
  • Specialized medical exam rooms with the latest technology to minimize the need for emergency room visits.
  • Immediate mental health services, including all forms of traditional and alternative treatment modalities.
  • Child-sensitive playrooms and waiting areas to give children and protecting family members’ privacy and comfort.
  • Education, meeting and training facilities to enhance the quality of services to children.
  • On-site parking for families, visitors and staff.
  • Central location and easy access to local, public and long distance transportation services.

Every Child Should Be Safe!

Each year in Essex County, there are an average of 5,000 cases of child abuse reported, with over 1,000 cases substantiated – the highest in New Jersey .

Since opening our doors in 1999, Wynona’s House has provided a multi-disciplinary response to over 3,000 of the most severely neglected and abused children in Essex County. With your support we can serve more children in our expanded location.
